New view of BG...

We had a 4D Ultrasound last night and got a great view of BG. It is a new way to get a great look of what your baby is going to look like. I was a little skeptical about this with Mr. B, and I still can't believe that this will be what she looks like, but hey...it was fun to see. She does kind of resemble her brother in these...especially the button nose. And the guy who did it for us had his 10 month old there, and also showed us his pictures from his Ultrasound... WOW! It was uncanny how much he looked like the photo. So who knows, we will see in about 2 months!!!! Check out their website: www.focusedwithin.com.

So the first photo you can see her foot and hand. Her foot is up against her forehead. She was like that for most of the U/S. It just doesn't look very comfortable! Then below her chin is her fist.

Two really cool things -- I could feel her move and see it while the U/S was happening. She streeeeetched really big and you could see her roll her head back. Then you could also see her flick her hand at the Umbilical cord during one point.

Now, I think she's got "NO room in the inn." But the technician went on and on about how much room she had, plus that I must drink a lot of water because of all the fluid that surrounded her...well, hate to say it, but I haven't done very well with the water drinking this time! I must say I am addicted to the caffiene!

She looked very peaceful and like she was playing twister in my belly. She's sitting correctly, head down and is DEFINITELY a girl!!! I won't expose you to the x-rated photos!!! But I feel much better now after seeing them.

I had my 30 week appointment this week.....My doc said I was perfect!! Although I had gained 4.5 lbs in two and 1/2 weeks - YUCK! I wasn't really happy about that, but wasn't surprised. Once MB came back in town after his two weeks away, I was ready to eat anything other than lunchmeat and yogurt!!!!!! Plus I'll say that not all that weight was legit either...because I usually go to my appointments 1st thing in the morning and this was right after lunch, OK, so that is just to make me feel better.

Anyway, things are going fine. I am still finding it hard to get around....just really sore, which is normal. But Mr. B and I are doing great, he's been such a helper and kisses his baby, and asks how she's doing. And doing great in school too...no trouble these days.

Hope everyone is great...Take Care!!!

Pink is popping up everywhere!!!

Greetings y'all!

Went to the doctor on Tuesday. Check up was fine. BG's heart rate was 151. Only 18 1/2 lbs gained so far. I am down four pounds at 28 weeks with Mr. B. Yea! I took my Glucose test...you have to drink this yucky orange stuff after fasting all morning, then wait an hour and have a gallon of blood drawn from your arm...ok not a gallon. So I passed! Which means that I don't have Gestational Diabetes...

Well, it is probably no question that this baby will be in the "pink"-- but after the load of stuff I got today, its official! One of my best pals just found out she's having a boy so today she unloaded THREE bags of pink (some other colors too) clothes in all sizes on me!!!! Lots of cutie stuff...I in turn will be unloading some of Mr. B's stuff to her as well!

Mr. B is doing good, he stayed out of school yesterday due to a bit of an upset tummy. After a 3 hour nap, he seemed to be a new kid! He did fine today at school too, so I assume he's feeling better.

Mr. B told me again today that I had two babies in my belly!!! Let's hope the doc and Ultrasound are right...we certainly aren't expecting two, but Mr. B predicted the girl - so you never know!!

FINALLY!!! Someone actually commented that I don't have long to go now when I told them I was due in July. As you know from previous posts, most everyone gasps in horror and clutches their chests like "holy COW you are that big and you have that long to go!" I made the girl repeat herself, and told her I loved her!!!!
Only a week to go until MB comes home. We all miss him and can't wait for him to get home! I am POOPED! Everyone have a great night!!! Check back soon.

BG's namesake...

2nd post of the night.....

Went to visit MB's grands today, Grandma and Papaw. Now Grandma hasn't been in the best physical health lately, she broke her hip earlier this year, but she's doing just great! And Papaw takes good care of her and she's a feisty one at that!!! She's not one to stay in one place long...definitely doesn't want to be tied down!!! They love ol' Mr. B, and of course he has to entertain while he's there. And they have a little tiny dog, Badger, who would rather die than have Mr. B play with him...... But they don't mind him...

Now mind you, these two have five kids between them, 9 grandkids, if I counted them all correctly, and with BG in July, will have 9 greatgrands!!! We love them dearly, and don't see enough of them while they only live 30 minutes from us...

So grandma isn't one to hide her feelings. The whole family knows that.... So here I was sitting with them, thought I would tell them BG's name. Since Grandma's middle name is Elizabeth and although we liked it before, when we found out that it belonged to this special lady, we stuck with it....And I said "Hey Grandma we picked a name....Carleigh Elizabeth!" She looks at me and says "I always hated that name, my mother used to call me Elizabeth!!!" OH WELL! SO MUCH FOR SENTIMENTALITY!!! I am sure she was pleased regardless...and this, my dear friends, is why I love Grandma so much!

Good night all!!! And don't forget to follow with the zoo post below....I just posted twice today!

Happy EASTER!!!

Greetings everyone!!! So after the last picture posted, I had several people concerned that Mr. B had a little issue with his hearing...so to make everyone (and myself) feel better, we took him to visit "Dr. Glub" (Dr. Glover) today so that he could check Mr. B and Buzz Lightyear's ears. Doc said that everything looks fine. He did the little hearing test that you may all remember in school where you raise your hand if you hear something. Doc said Mr. B was a great patient! He loves "Dr. Glub!!"
We are gearing up for the holiday weekend. We visited the Easter Bunny this morning, Mr. B was pumped to see him! I think the last time that we saw him, B was not a happy camper...but that is one of my fave pics of him...and I have one from when I was little too!! Tears and all. Last night we decorated Easter Eggs!!! I was so excited that B decided that one egg needed to be dipped in ALLLLL the colors. He calls that one his "Ugly Egg." I loved it! We always had an egg like that. I'll try to get some pics of it in our Easter photos from Sunday morning! It is purty!
Mr. B and his Daddy are more alike everyday. MB NEVER forgets anything he's read and has pretty much cornered the market on photographic memory skills!! My oldest brother M called today to ask if I had seen his wedding band while Mr. B and I were at his house last weekend. He'd looked everywhere and it wasn't where he had left it. I told him I had not seen it, and that it was doubtful that Mr. B would remember if he had seen it, or played with it for that matter, but B was playing at the desk that it was sitting on, so it was a possibility. I talked to Mr. B with no luck, he didn't have a clue what I was talking about...so I enlisted Daddy for help. Since Mr. B and Dad think on the same level (ha ha...just kidding) I asked him to put B under the microscope and see what he could get out of him. Lo and behold, Mike called to tell me that B said he had played with a "gray ring" that day and had put it in the blue bowl with eyes on it. He said he was hiding it from the baby (his cousin). So I called brother M and told him to check there, because YES, my kid does have a vivid imagination but this story was too good to be made up. So when brother M called his home, his housekeeper checked and she FOUND IT!!!!!!!!! What a smart little guy! I was so relieved. Smarty pants!!!!!!!
So-- off for now! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend and that you are all staying warm---cuz it sure is cold here! OH! BG seems to be fine. She's kicking me like crazy, so I know she's still in there!
Love to all!!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday to me...

Greetings everyone!

What a great weekend...my parents were in town for a few days, along with my sis. Whether or not they were in specifically for my birthday or not, I don't know but I like to lie to myself and think that it was the ONLY reason they wanted to come in...ha ha! We had a short but wonderful visit. Mr. B actually behaved himself this time (we had a rough go of things in Jan when I took him to their house).

Sunday was my birthday and when I told Mr. B that my birthday was that day his only concern was if I was going to have cake or not. He thought I deserved a pretty orange and red one. Well, I finally got cake on Monday!!! NR in my office baked me a yummy red velvet cake! It was a wonderful few days around here...making turning old not so bad after all. My sis and I got to spend a great Sunday shopping for maternity clothes and enjoying each other's company. We laugh because since she moved three hours away, we see her all the time!!!!

SW, another friend of mine in the office thought it appropriate to bless me with a stuffed chicken, and a cute little outfit with a chicken on it (read my original posting about Mr. B's comment at the Ultrasound). I showed it to Mr. B and told him it was his baby. He plainly responded, "No that's not my baby, but I wish she would hurry up and get out of your belly so I could play with her." There's a lot of love now...so check back in a year or so and laugh out loud at the posts where they will be fighting like cats and dogs!!! Oh well, it is great while it lasts.

I went to see the Dr. today, or as my girlfriend JBL and I call him now, Lo Mac...long story...I have gained 2 more lbs, bringing the grand total up to 16. Not so bad for 24 weeks pg! I feel OK, except everything I eat makes me feel icky and it is so darn hot outside I just don't know how I am going to make it until July. Lo Mac checked the heartbeat and checked for a second heartbeat...so not funny because I think I might die if he found twins in there after all this time. But stranger things have happened right? However, I am pretty confident I don't have a thing to worry about!

So.....off for now! Thanks to all who blessed me with birthday wishes. I am so lucky to be celebrating another year with such great anticipation of things to come! Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful spring weather and getting all their winter clothes packed away. Check back soon....

Getting started...

Hi everyone! Most of you should already have heard that we are having a GIRL!! We are due sometime around July 15th and are thrilled that this will complete our little family. Although our four legged girl, Mattie, seems none-too-thrilled with the announcement. I have been saying all along that she seems to be a bit depressed these days. I think the puppy intuition is great, and she has been aware of what was happening. She protected Mr. B when he came into her life, as I am sure he will do with Baby Girl (BG).

Anyway, so on Monday I went to my third dr's appointment. Things are looking good. The baby is about 12 oz, heartrate was 138. The Ultrasound tech showed us the chambers of the heart, legs and arms, brain...all the important stuff. Mr. B went with us and was a little confused. He couldn't really understand what was going on. So he sat in Daddy's lap and played with his cars.

The best comment of the day, which you can see in the U/S video because the screen starts jumping a little bit, was when Mr. B decided to put his two cents in. He said "Mommy, is that chicken?" I busted out laughing, along with the rest of the adults in the room.

Mr. B is awesome and he is really getting excited. He keeps asking me when his baby is going to get here so he can play. He's decided he needs to "knock taters" with her/BG every now and then. This is Daddy and his special game, basically like playing one potato two potato, only a little harder than the childhood game. I allow him to "knock taters" with her one time, then he's done. We have to teach him the art of being gentle!

I have wanted to post a blog for a long time...I am a writer at heart and don't get to do much of it anymore. One of my friends who is pregnant started one and I have enjoyed keeping up with her. So I thought I should start one too. This can at least keep the family up to date with our appointments and little details that we might forget to share otherwise. So keep checking back. I hope you enjoy it!
