Hi guys, everyone asked to see pics of the kids from Easter, so I am posting some. I didn't realize how weird I am until I had a girl and Easter started creeping up on us. I remember as a kid, all of us got brand spanking new clothes and shoes, maybe even a hat to wear for Easter Sunday. I have pictures of myself on Easter as a baby in bonnets and handmade dresses. It was quite the deal at my house to dress up in "Sunday best" for the occasion to go to church.
I also remember shopping for "school clothes." And no matter how freakin' hot it was on the first day of school, we always wore our favorite NEW school outfit, even if it was a sweater and jeans! IN AUGUST!
I have a friend who scoffed at the idea of BG wearing an Easter Bonnet this year...my response was "why? Didn't you??" So we spent the next hour laughing about the clothes that we wore growing up and comparing notes as to who had what. I remember my Dad had some jeans for me that I hated more than anything, they had hamburger and french fries embroidered on the pockets. It never failed, every time I wore them, I was called on to make a delivery to the office or go to the board or something...Clothes were the common bond for my sister and I, and the common fight between us too...ask my sis about her infamous "white jeans." They caused quite the raucous one day. But we also shared a lot of clothes in harmony.....here's a trip down memory lane KTM -- remember Outback Red. The one sweater that we had in like twelve colors, with the matchy matchy mock turtleneck (also in 12 colors) and the pegged riding pants, all coordinating of course. Too much! And who made those striped button downs that we had that were sewn inside out? We were quite the fashionistas!!!! Oh, oh oh!!! Do you remember the red dress that the three of us wore for Christmas? We really looked pretty, but were we really big dorks? ;) That's what memories and families are for right? And it made a memory!
So hopefully my kids will fondly remember someday the experiences that their mother put them through. One day, they will sit around during the days leading up to Easter Sunday and crack up at the fact that mom put BG in a Bonnet and Mr. B in seersucker shorts!!! I DON'T CARE!!!
